Making Headlines....

Promoting Children’s Oral Health

CDHA works hard to raise public awareness of dental hygiene, oral health, and the essential role of dental hygienists, especially leading up to National Dental Hygienists Week (NDHW™). This year, given the launch of the Canada Dental Benefit, our advertising has focused on children’s oral health, targeting the “Mom” demographic.

In January, our full-page ad and editorial in The Globe and Mail’s Family Oral Health supplement reached 714,000 readers and generated 250,000 web impressions. On March 26, we will have a full-page feature in Hello Canada magazine’s Oral Health supplement, reaching 832,000 people.

Our national television advertising campaign, airing on 7 networks (CTV News and Comedy, Series+, Slice, Food Network, OWN, and W) between April 4 and 10, along with a digital ad campaign on YouTube, will reach an estimated audience of 5.7 million. Our national digital billboard campaign, with 71 boards in 30 communities, will generate 17.6 million audience impressions. The list of billboard locations, along with our video and television broadcast schedule, is available here.

Oral Cancer Course

Will This Be the Year You Save a Life?

A call to action by the Chief Dental Officer of Canada validates the integral role dental hygienists play in early discovery of oral and oropharyngeal cancers through opportunistic screening. To support you in assessing, managing, and referring clients who may be at risk, we have updated our oral cancer screening online course and will be releasing it next month. Find out more about this potentially lifesaving offering from course developer, Jo-Anne Jones, RDH.
