Summary
Oral health care practitioners play a critical role in ensuring the
long-term success of dental implants. A succinct understanding of clinical
parameters, risk assessment strategies, and evidence-informed protocols is
essential for achieving predictive, preventative, participatory, and
personalized patient care. This presentation is designed for clinicians
involved in the management of implants and peri-implant diseases,
equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to optimize implant
outcomes and prevent complications.

Penny Hatzimanolakis, DHP(C), MSc (she, her/elle)
Penny Hatzimanolakis has specialized in periodontics and
prosthodontics since 1994 and joined the faculty of the University
of British Columbia's dental school in 2002. Currently pursuing a
doctorate in Educational Leadership, she champions
evidence-informed, proactive approaches to oral-systemic health. A
published author and national speaker, she serves as an advisor on
multiple industry boards. Through her centre, Elevate Oral Health
and Learning Centre, Penny provides advanced training and inclusive,
individualized patient-centred care, with a strong commitment to
supporting underserved communities.
