The Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry (CAPHD) is the national voice for dental public health in
Canada that exists to support members, government, institutions, and agencies who are dedicated to improving
oral health and assuring oral health equity in Canadians.
Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21st Century (CCPH21)
The Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21st Century (CCPH21) is a national network of non-profit
organizations, professional associations, health charities and research organizations that share the common
goal to improve and sustain the health of Canadians. The coalition was dissolved in 2023.
Cochrane Canada is the Canadian arm of Cochrane – an independent global network of healthcare practitioners,
researchers, patient advocates, and others.
Cochrane Oral Health, as part of Cochrane, publishes summaries of the best quality research available to help
people make informed decisions about oral healthcare choices.
The Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) is the body responsible for accrediting dental,
dental specialty, dental residency, dental hygiene and dental assisting education programs in Canada. CDAC
also accredits dental services.
The Extended Healthcare Professionals Coalition (EHPC) is a coalition of organizations representing over
100,000 regulated health professions that make up Canada’s health care landscape, including Audiologists,
Chiropractors, Dental Hygienists, Dentists, Denturists, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Optometrists,
Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Social Workers.
HEAL is a coalition of 40 national health organizations dedicated to improving the health of Canadians and
the quality of care they receive. A key focus for HEAL is the promotion of sustainable solutions and health
system transformations for lasting impact on the health and well- being of all Canadians.
Health Canada is responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health. It ensures that
high-quality health services are accessible, and works to reduce health risks.
The Oral Health Branch serves as the primary entity responsible for delivering Health Canada’s oral health
commitments, aimed at enhancing access to oral health services and improving the overall well-being of
Canadians.
The International Federation of Dental Hygienists is an international non-profit association uniting national
dental hygienist organizations, by fostering leadership and collaboration.
The Federation of Dental Hygiene Regulators of Canada (FDHRC) is a federation of organizations which have a
statutory responsibility to regulate the profession of dental hygiene within their respective provinces.
Research Canada exists to champion health research and innovation, fostering a healthier, more prosperous
future for Canadians.
