Dental Hygiene Regulatory Chart: 2020 Update

CDHA’s updated regulatory chart, Dental Hygiene Profession in Canada, is now available in English and French. It contains information on dental hygiene regulation, workforce size, and variations in scope of practice across Canada, thanks to information provided annually by Canada’s dental hygiene regulatory authorities.

New PPE Service Codes

In light of new infection prevention and control requirements prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic, CDHA and the National Service Codes Committee have approved the creation of two new dental hygiene codes to help independent dental hygienists recoup some of the expenses associated with the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE). The addendum outlining these new service codes is available in English and French.

World Cavity-Free Future Day

SThis year, to support World Cavity-Free Future Day (October 14), the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future (ACFF) is launching a video competition called “Smiles Across Generations.” The alliance hopes to collect 30-second video submissions from audiences across the globe, explaining how they look after their teeth. Entries will be received from July 1 until August 31. You can view a sample video and learn more about how to enter on the ACFF website.
