Making Headlines....

Exciting News for Dental Hygienists!

The Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program has now been expanded to include dental hygienists who work in underserved rural and remote communities. This milestone follows years of advocacy by CDHA and represents a significant step towards improving access to oral health care for Canadians in areas where services are limited. Eligible dental hygienists can receive up to $15,000 in federal student loan forgiveness over five years, helping to ease financial burdens while supporting community health. Applications may be submitted after one year of service in an eligible community. For details on eligibility and how to apply, visit the Government of Canada’s loan forgiveness page.

Building an Inclusive Future

Building an Inclusive Future

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to creating an oral health care system that works for everyone. CDHA recognizes that dental hygienists and their clients may belong to marginalized communities and face discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, age, religion, socioeconomic background, language, Indigenous identity or cultural heritage. Visit our new web page (français) to learn about CDHA’s commitment to fostering inclusive environments and explore resources to help you provide culturally sensitive care.
