Making Headlines....

Just Three Days Until NDHW™!

It’s the final countdown and we hope you’re ready to go April 4–10! National Dental Hygienists Week™ (NDHW™) lets you show off your #DHpurplepride, take part in contests, public awareness activities, and more. A simple way to support your week is to create and share a photo frame on your social media profiles. We’ve developed a new module in English or French to help you do that! You should have also received a recent email reminding you of the things you can do, the messages you can share, and the resources you can use to raise public awareness of the “Oral Health for Total Health” campaign. Visit cdha.ca/ndhw or achd.ca/snhd for everything you need. PYPO: it's a lifestyle, so Put Your Purple On!

NDHW™ is generously sponsored by Dentsply Sirona, GUM®, and Securian Canada; our Purple Pride campaign is powered by PHILIPS Sonicare and PHILIPS ZOOM!

CDHA Staff Meet Federal Health Minister

CDHA Staff Meet Federal Health Minister

On March 25, CDHA staff met for the first time with the federal health minister, Marjorie Michel, to discuss advocacy priorities of the dental hygiene profession and access to preventive oral health care for people in Canada. We emphasized the need to enhance the coverage of prevention services in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and to improve administrative processes. We also raised issues regarding the health workforce, the education landscape, and other policy developments. CDHA looks forward to deepening our engagement with the minister and her office as Health Canada and the government look ahead to 2026‒2027.
