As the CEO of dental practice management software company Maxim Software Systems, Alex Zlatin helps struggling dental professionals take control of their practices and reach the next level of success with responsible leadership strategies. Leveraging over 13 years of management and consulting experience, he empowers organizations to become more productive and profitable based on the belief that successful businesses establish a genuine connection with employees, stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
His passion for strategic management and business leadership began with earning a BSc in Technology Management at HIT in Israel, after which he attended Edinburgh Business School to earn his MBA. Upon graduating from Heriot-Watt University in 2012, Alex immigrated with his wife Karina to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he first joined Maxim Software Systems as the Director of Operations. After working with the company for several years in different capacities, he rose to his current position of CEO.
Alex volunteers his time and expertise to various professional organizations, such as serving on the Advisory Board for AMBAC (Association of MBAs in Canada), as a business mentor to young entrepreneurs for Futurepreneur Canada, and by launching his own organization, Dental Office Managers Association of Canada.

Bernard Dolansky, DDS, BA, MS
Dr. Bernie Dolansky is a past president of the Ottawa Dental Society, Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Canadian Dental Association (CDA), and the Dentistry Canada Fund. He is also an honorary member of the CDA, ODA, and Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Dolansky is currently a Senior Transition Consultant at Tier Three Brokerage, where he continues to assist dental professionals with transition planning; evaluations: practice purchases and sales; as well as associateship and partnership arrangements. Additionally, he lectures and writes on these topics across Canada.

Balbir Sohi, RDH, MSc
Balbir is an entrepreneur and owner of ‘Smiles on Wheels’, a Dragon’s Den-winning mobile dental hygiene concept as well as founder of ‘My Dream Smile’, a not-for-profit organization. She is a business owner, motivational speaker, philanthropist, and mentor. She serves on the board of directors for many organizations and is a school board trustee for PDSB. She has received accolades from several community organizations and is a past winner of the CDHA Award of Merit.

Sophie Freeman, RDH
A successful entrepreneur with 30 years of clinical experience, Sophie is the owner and founder of Sophie’s Oral Hygiene Care (SOHC) and has been practicing in that capacity for over 13 years. She currently provides services in long-term care home clinics in the Algoma District. She strongly believes in the profession’s potential to grow and expand through independent practice and passionately provides guidance, mentorship and consultation to other inspiring dental hygienists looking to launch their own business.

Holly Rynard, RDH
Holly is the owner and operator of Hollywood Dental Hygiene, a home based independent dental hygiene business. Holly brings experience in dental assisting, dental education, and independent dental hygiene practice ownership experience. Her passion for creating an empathetic and calm, home-centered clinic environment for her clients has proven to be rewarding. Holly also enjoys representing Paradise Dental Technologies as an independent education representative for Eastern Ontario.

Lisa Carlomusto, RDH
After seven years of working full-time as an RDH, Lisa knew her passion for dental hygiene was just beginning when she opened Dental Hygiene of Niagara in 2014, a storefront practice. As her seventh year in business approaches, she now has four full-time and five part-time staff. Lisa believes that spending extra time with people is an important part of health care and giving time to clients based on their needs is crucial.

Donna Wells, RDH, BA
Donna is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at the Canadian National Institute of Health and holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Carleton University. After working several years in both general and periodontal practice, Donna became a theory and clinical educator, and most recently held the position of pre-clinical coordinator at the Canadian National Institute of Health. Donna is the manager of professional practice at the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
