CDHA successfully lobbies for CIHR fellowship funding for dental hygienists

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research have added dental hygienists to the list of health professionals who are eligible for fellowship funding, which includes a research allowance of $5,000 per annum, and/or a stipend of between $40,000 to $50,000 per annum. Fellowships provide support for highly qualified candidates at the post-PhD or post-health professional degree stages to add to their experience by engaging in health research either in Canada or abroad.

Rural and Northern Health Care Framework Consultation

CDHA contributed to a consultation on rural and northern health care in Ontario. We advocated for alternative models for oral health service delivery that make best use of independently practicing dental hygienists.
