Travel funding is available to four (4) dental hygiene students who have been accepted to present their
research as part
of the scientific
program at CDHA’s national conference, October 17–19, 2024, in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
CDHA enthusiastically supports students with an interest in research, giving them an opportunity to:
- Engage in the largest national gathering of dental hygienists by submitting their research and, if
accepted,
presenting their findings to conference delegates and the broader oral health research community
- Expand their research and presentation skills
- Enrich their access to fellow researchers, dental hygiene programs, and oral health professionals across
the country
All students are encouraged to check with their learning programs to see what other sources of financial
support for
travel to conferences may be available.
Eligibility
Each student applicant must:
- Have submitted
an abstract for consideration as part of CDHA’s 2024 national conference scientific program
- Be a current CDHA member
- Be enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application
- Applicants who are accepted to present their research at the conference will automatically be
short-listed as
potential bursary candidates.
Value
- Maximum amount of $500 per recipient
- Maximum of four (4) recipients
Conditions
- Students must attend and present their research at the conference in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
- Bursary may only be used to cover the cost of transportation (train, airfare, bus, taxi/rides,
kilometres or other)
and/or accommodation, and at the most economical rate possible. No other travel expenses are eligible.
- Recipients will be required to pay for travel and submit clearly scanned original receipts to CDHA by
email for
reimbursement.
- Preference will be given to first-time presenters.
- Preference will be given to students who do not have access to travel grants from their home institution
or another
source.
- Students can submit only one application per conference.
- Acceptance of the student’s abstract for presentation at the conference will be verified by CDHA to
support the
bursary application.
