Program Objectives
- To explore recent advancements in the dental hygiene body of knowledge
- To identify and discuss promising ideas and emerging issues in dental hygiene research
- To exchange knowledge and experiences on relevant issues to strengthen dental hygiene research, policy,
and practice at a national level
- To evaluate the intersections between the presented research and dental hygiene and oral health research
agendas
- To offer access to a network of colleagues and partners for initiating or expanding dental hygiene
research initiatives
We welcome submissions from individuals at all career stages and from any work environment or role.
Please read these instructions before submitting your abstract(s). Failure to adhere to them may result
in the rejection
of your abstract.

Getting Started
Review the submission instructions. Failure to adhere to them may result in the rejection of
your abstract.
Abstract submissions must be made through our online submission portal. You will be directed to create a
login and password and will be able to modify abstract submission(s) and/or create multiple abstract
submissions until the submission deadline.

Abstract Preparation
- The submitting author is considered the primary investigator of the study/research.
- Abstracts (text only) should report on completed studies/research.
- Content should be informative and clearly presented in complete sentences (avoid bullet points, tables
or reference
lists).
- Language: English only.
- Maximum length: 300 words (the title does not contribute to the word count).
- To facilitate blind reviews by the Abstract Review Committee, the abstract should not include any
information that
could be used to identify the authors (e.g., names, affiliations). Author details should be added to
specific fields in
the submission portal.
Submission Requirements
- Online submissions only (via our dedicated abstract portal that will guide you through
all steps). Submitting authors
must register with the submission portal by creating a username and password.
- Authors may be named on as many abstracts as they wish. However, presenting authors are limited
to a maximum of one
(1) oral presentation and one (1) poster presentation.
- Previously presented and/or published abstracts will be considered, provided that a complete citation to
the original
work is specified.
Correspondence
- All communications will be directed to the submitting author. This person is responsible for
disseminating information
to any presenting and/or contributing co-authors.
- An email confirming receipt of submission will be sent. If this confirmation is not received, please
check your
junk/spam folders before contacting us.
- Please make sure your email system is set to allow messages from support@gocadmium.com and abstracts@cdha.ca.
Abstract Review and Acceptance
- Abstracts will be evaluated on their scientific merit, contribution to the growing body of dental
hygiene and oral
health evidence, and adherence to these submission instructions.
- Abstracts that are not selected for oral presentations may be considered for poster presentations.
Presenter Requirements
- Accepted presenting authors must register for the conference and pay associated conference fees to
secure their
presentation(s) in the conference program.
- CDHA assumes no costs for the preparation of presentations or attendance at the conference.
- Presenters are not required to be the principal investigator of the research but should be a member of
the research
team.
