Board Awards: Nomination Deadline Approaching

CDHA’s board of directors celebrates exceptional volunteer service through its award program, recognizing members who have made outstanding contributions to the dental hygiene profession, either locally in their communities or nationally through the association. Nominations for CDHA’s Award of Merit, Distinguished Service Award, and Life Membership Award must be received no later than Sunday, January 29.

NEVI 2.0 CDHA Scholarship Recipients Selected

Hu-Friedy and CDHA are pleased to announce that three students working towards bachelor's degrees and one doctoral level student have been selected as the recipients of the 2016 NEVI 2.0 CDHA scholarships. This funding opportunity is designed to help dental hygienists advance their education, and it will continue in 2017. Bookmark and check back in the spring for the application form.

National List of Service Codes Updated

Have you heard? CDHA recently released the 2017 National List of Service Codes, the first major revision to the list since 2012. This newest edition is the result of consultations with numerous stakeholders, including members, the Independent Practice Advisory Committee (IPAC), provincial regulators, and government. Key changes are summarized in the following chart.

Social Responsibility Advocates to Meet in Italy

The Canadian Foundation for Dental Hygiene Research and Education (CFDHRE) is accepting proposals for its 2017–2018 research grant competition. Two grants, valued at up to $10,000 each, will be offered this year to registered Canadian dental hygienists and CDHA members who are undertaking dental hygiene related research. Applications from graduate students are welcome. A completed application form is due by midnight ET on January 31.
