CJDH 50th Anniversary

In 1966, the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association decided to launch a national journal as a means of cross-country communication and knowledge sharing. The following year, The Canadian Dental Hygienist/L’hygiéniste dentaire du Canada became the official title of the journal. Since then, the journal has undergone two more name changes (to Probe in 1986 and to Canadian Journal of Dental Hygiene/Journal canadien de l’hygiène dentaire in 2004), several modifications to its publication frequency, and shifts in its mandate. Yet one element has remained constant over the past 50 years: the journal has always sought to advance the profession by showcasing the expertise of dental hygienists to the world.
