The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) is seeking a resourceful, knowledgeable, experienced, and well-organized Administrative Coordinator to join our dedicated staff team.

CDHA is the national voice of nearly 34,000 dental hygienists in Canada, directly representing over 23,000 members, including students. Since 1963, driven by the strength and passion of our members, we have worked to advance the profession and promote the importance of oral health. We do this through knowledge translation, research, education, advocacy, and public awareness initiatives, and leadership support.

Administrative Coordinator, Dental Hygiene Practice (Full-time, hybrid)

As a member of CDHA’s dental hygiene practice (DHP) team and reporting to the Manager of Professional Practice, the Administrative Coordinator provides professional administrative support to the Director of Dental Hygiene Practice, Manager of Policy, Research and Government Relations, Manager of Professional Practice, and Professional Practice Advisor. This role involves coordinating administrative tasks, handling communications, liaising with various departments and partners, and ensuring efficient and effective operations of DHP activities.

The Administrative Coordinator is a critical thinker with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, proactive, detail- and team-oriented, and skilled in dealing with multiple priorities. You also have a solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. The Administrative Coordinator also maintains a strong knowledge of CDHA’s strategic plan, policies, practices, and projects.

As a qualified candidate, you have excellent written, oral, proofreading, and time management skills in addition to the above requirements. The ideal candidate communicates effectively in both English and French, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

At least 5 years of progressively responsible office experience are required, along with a college diploma in a related field (e.g., office administration). Previous experience in a professional organization or association will be considered an asset, as will a Canadian Certified Administrative Professional (CCAP) designation.

CDHA offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The starting salary for this position is between $56,928 and $66,974; remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This is a hybrid work position with a minimum work week of 37.5 full-time hours (excluding meal breaks), Monday through Friday; occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
