Notice is hereby given that the annual meeting of the members of CDHA will be held virtually on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 12:00 pm ET. Click below to access the proxy form and submit it to the CDHA office as instructed, no later than 4:00 pm ET on September 25, 2020.

The annual financial statements and the auditor’s reports will be made available on CDHA’s website and at the registered office of the CDHA and any member may, on request, obtain a printed copy free of charge at the registered office or by prepaid mail.

On behalf of the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association’s (CDHA) board of directors, I would like to invite you to CDHA’s virtual annual general meeting (AGM). We hope you will join us on October 3 to hear about the exciting work of the association over the past year and to learn from Dr. Kevin Katz, medical director of infection prevention and control at the North York General Hospital, who will share his expertise and answer questions on managing the COVID-19 pandemic. It promises to be an informative and enriching event. I look forward to welcoming you all!


Registration opens the week of September 7 and secures your spot for both the speaker presentation and the AGM. Those who attend the session will be eligible to win some fantastic product prizes courtesy of Waterpik!

Before joining the session on a computer or mobile device, be sure to download the Zoom app. For those who do not have access to a computer or mobile device, there will be an option to dial in using a Zoom conference call number but you will not have the ability to vote during the session. In this case, please complete the proxy form as indicated above.

Join us for an in-depth interview with Dr. Kevin Katz, an infection prevention and control expert. He will answer your most pressing questions about the COVID-19 pandemic and share his perspective on how this virus may affect the country as we forge ahead into the new year. Questions for the speaker will be collected from participants in advance of the event.

Note: CDHA will collate common questions and reserves the right to edit if necessary for length and clarity.

CDHA invites all members to our virtual annual general meeting. Learn about the work of CDHA and approve the selection of financial auditors.

Note: Only CDHA active, life, and graduated student members are eligible to vote and must do so using the Zoom online platform. Those choosing to use the Zoom conference call option will not have the ability to vote during the session and must complete a proxy form in advance as indicated above.


Kevin Katz, MD, CM, MSc, FRCPC

Dr. Kevin Katz is a medical microbiologist and infectious diseases specialist and an associate professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. He has served on provincial infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practice committees for many years and has co-authored many of Ontario’s Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) best practice guidelines. He has special research interests in healthcare-acquired infections and patient safety. He is the Chief Medical Officer of Practice Health Check, an IPAC consulting company that assists dental clinics with onsite IPAC audits, practices, and education to ensure best practices.
