This webinar will critically review products utilized on a regular basis in dental offices, assess their efficacy and safety to those exposed, and bring attention to exposure limits and possible results of overexposure. Additionally, some of the active ingredients in these products will be reviewed and assessed; and safer options will be explored.

Neli Gontier, BSc, RDH, Cert(AdEd), Cert(H&S)

Neli Gontier is an articulate and dynamic speaker with many years of experience in the dental, health care, academic, corporate, and non-profit sectors. She has worked as a clinician, educator, practice management consultant, keynote speaker, and corporate manager. As an Education & Training Specialist, her expertise includes IPAC (cert.), microbiology, oral diseases, chronic diseases, PHIPA & privacy, AODA, health and safety (cert.), communications and customer service, among others. She continues to facilitate adult learning as a corporate trainer/facilitator and key opinion leader (KOL) for several national and international organizations. She provides onsite training to dental practices, delivers webinars, workshops and seminars, and has written numerous online continuing education courses for the health care sector. She hopes to motivate health care professionals to continually improve their practice standards.

Melissa Chaulk, RDH, BSc

Melissa is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at Cambrian College, holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical biology from Laurentian University, and is working part time on a master’s degree in education from the University of Ottawa. After working for several years in general practice, she became a theory instructor and clinical educator, and most recently held the position of clinical coordinator at the Canadian National Institute of Health in Ottawa, Ontario, for six years. Melissa is the manager of professional development at the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
