For the first time, CDHA’s national conference will feature “Motivational Moments” presentations, a variation on the popular TED Talks series that has captivated people around the globe. These powerful presentations will make you laugh, cry, and leave you wanting more. Don’t miss this new and unique conference offering!

CDHA would like to thank members who submitted a video for this inaugural conference session and the judging panel for their involvement in selecting this year’s presenters. From a field of 36 video submissions from across the country, five CDHA members were selected for this opportunity.

Meet the Presenters

Wanda Fedora, RDH

Wanda Fedora is a graduate of the 1980 class of Dalhousie’s School of Dental Hygiene. She operates a mobile long-term care practice on Cape Breton Island and works in a clinical practice. She has been active in her professional associations and has held many positions including President of the Nova Scotia and Canadian Dental Hygienists Associations. Wanda is currently the President-Elect of the International Federation of Dental Hygienists.

Corina Hartley, RDH

Corina Hartley is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from Durham College in 2006 and practiced in Ontario, British Columbia, and now resides and works in Edmonton, Alberta. Corina has a unique ability to relax patients with an understanding attitude and a special sense of humour. Corina’s biggest desire is to share life with as many people as possible using close-up experiences, storytelling, and simply just being present.

Kaylin Ho, (student)

Kaylin Ho is a third-year student in the dental hygiene degree program at University of British Columbia. She has completed a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in biology. Currently the class president for her third consecutive year, an active member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity committee, as well as the CDHA junior student leader for UBC, she is also a peer mentor in the dental hygiene program.

Kayla Ragosin-Miller, DipDH, PID

Kayla Ragosin-Miller is a dental hygiene graduate from the University of Manitoba. She has worked in private practice, for not-for-profit dental offices, and as an instructor and provincial clinical examiner for the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia. However, her passion is working at BC Children’s Hospital where she developed and created the Dental Intervention Program for those with autism and related disorders. Currently, she lectures on how to treat those with special needs successfully in the dental office.

Balbir Sohi, M.Sc. RDH

Balbir is an entrepreneur and owner of ‘Smiles on Wheels’, a Dragon’s Den-winning mobile dental hygiene concept as well as founder of ‘My Dream Smile’, a not-for-profit organization. She is a business owner, motivational speaker, philanthropist, and mentor. She serves on the board of directors for many organizations and is a school board trustee for PDSB. She has received accolades from several community organizations and is a past winner of the CDHA Award of Merit.
