COVID-19 FAQ

Although the COVID-19 pandemic has affected CDHA’s ability to host in-person events this year, we remain hopeful that an in-person gathering may be possible in October 2021. We are continually assessing the conditions of the pandemic for impacts on hosting an in-person event with health and safety the topmost priorities for CDHA. Rest assured, we will operate in compliance with the latest public health guidance.

General Questions

What measures will be in place to protect my health and safety during the conference?

The health and safety of all conference attendees, suppliers, event staff, and delegates are our top priority. As required, health protection measures and strategies will be implemented to minimize public health risk.

COVID-19 health and safety protection measures include (but are not limited to):

  • physical distancing
  • room layout adjustments
  • reduced room capacities
  • disinfecting and sanitizing practices
  • use of protective barriers
  • use of personal protective equipment
  • safe food and beverage consumption

Will I be required to demonstrate proof of a negative COVID-19 test result prior to attending?

Additional details regarding COVID-19 related attendance requirements will be available prior to the opening of conference registration in spring 2021.

Call for Abstract Questions

What if I’m selected for presentation and the in-person format for the conference changes at a later time?

Should a virtual or hybrid approach to the scientific program be required, you will receive due notification prior to the opening of conference registration in spring 2021.

What if I’m selected for presentation and can’t attend because of COVID-19 illness or related issues?

CDHA is not responsible for your travel or registration-related expenses. Alternate arrangements for presentation (as required) will be determined on a case-by-case basis at that time.

What if I book my flight and accommodations and CDHA decides to host the event virtually?

It is recommended you not make any travel arrangements prior to your acceptance into the scientific program. Notification of decision will be communicated to applicants in May 2021 and additional details regarding conference programming will be available at that time.
