The Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) is looking for a dental hygienist with significant experience either owning or working in an independent dental hygiene practice to join our dedicated, hard-working staff team, full time, as professional practice advisor.

As a member of CDHA’s dental hygiene practice team and reporting to the manager of professional practice, the professional practice advisor is responsible for advising members on practice issues, with an emphasis on supporting dental hygienists who are interested in or are currently practising independently. The advisor will participate in collaborative policy development processes and support guideline development and decision making. The professional practice advisor will also research and collaborate on the development of evidence-based resources for the profession and contribute to CDHA publications.

The position requires a sound knowledge of the ethical, legislative, and business issues that impact the practice of dental hygiene in all Canadian jurisdictions. A minimum of five years of experience within the last ten years in independent dental hygiene practice, having owned or worked in such a practice, is essential.

As a qualified candidate, in addition to meeting the above requirements, you are a registered dental hygienist with a diploma or degree in dental hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program. You have an active certificate of registration/licence to practise from a Canadian dental hygiene regulatory body and are in good standing with that body.

At CDHA, we are proud to have what we believe to be one of the brightest and most dedicated employee teams around! We work hard together to create a work environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and work satisfaction for all employees.

CDHA offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is full time and indeterminate. The position is located in beautiful Ottawa, Ontario, however candidates living outside Ottawa will be equally considered based on a remote work arrangement.
