CDHA Outstanding Research Award 2010 in participation with P&G

The new Outstanding Research Award 2010, in participation with P&G, is to acknowledge the important role of dental hygiene research in building the knowledge base of the profession, guiding the practice of the dental hygiene profession, and in improving the oral health of Canadians. Applicants can submit a research project, a program evaluation, a study, or a systematic literature review. The selected winning entry will be published in volume 44 of the Canadian Journal of Dental Hygiene in 2010. Last date to receive your entry is extended to April 15, 2010.

Award consists of:

  • One $2,000 prize to the author(s) of the selected, full length manuscript of 2000–4000 words.

CDHA International Ambassador Travel Bursary 2010
in participation with P&G

The CDHA International Ambassador Travel Bursary 2010, in participation with P&G, is for a dental hygienist enrolled in, or a graduate of, a baccalaureate, master, doctoral, or post doctoral program. This bursary is awarded to support a Canadian researcher who is submitting an abstract for an oral presentation, poster presentation, or a workshop at the International Symposium on Dental Hygiene (ISDH) from 1 to 3 July 2010 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Program consists of:

  • $3,000 to cover expenses for participating in the ISDH.

CDHA Symposium Bursary 2010 in participation with P&G

The CDHA Symposium Bursary 2010, in participation with P&G, is for a CDHA member who is enrolled in, or a graduate of, a master, doctoral, or post doctoral program. This bursary is offered to attend the Canadian Cochrane Network and Centre (CCNC) Symposium in Ottawa, Ontario, on 19-20 May 2010. The successful applicant will attend the CCNC Affiliates Meeting during the conference and act as a CDHA representative by delivering a report on Cochrane related activities that CDHA has been involved in within the last year, as well as activities planned for the upcoming year. This report will be provided by CDHA. In addition, the recipient will also be required to submit a short summary to CDHA of the activities from the Affiliates Meeting and impressions of the symposium.

CCNC produces and disseminates systematic reviews on the effectiveness of health care interventions, including those relevant to dental hygiene practice. This year’s symposium theme is Evidence in Uncertain Times: Meeting the Challenge. For more information, visit the symposium website at www.ccncsymposium.com.

  • A maximum of $2,000 to cover the expenses for attending the CCNC symposium as a CDHA representative.
